This game between Juventus and Dortmund reminded us why we all watch Champions League and why it’s the best soccer competition in the world. Review of a crazy 4-4 game.
Juventus has just returned from an unbelievable 4-3 game against their historic rivals Inter Milan, and it looks like it was not enough for them.
For this first matchday of the 2025/2026 Champions League, entertainment was present at Juventus Stadium. Despite a first half really calm where Juventus pretty much dominated, the Italians were not able to find the solution in front of their fans. 0-0 at the break.
Halftime was a turning point for both teams, with a first half dominated by the defenses, it is easy to say that the offensive aspect of the game took over.
Karim Adeyemi (52′) opens the scoring with a beautiful speed of execution. Kenan Yildiz put both teams on the same level again (63′) with a remarkable shot from outside the penalty area (he scored a similar goal during last game against Inter Milan). 2 minutes later, Dortmund regains the lead thanks to Felix Nmecha with an assist from Karim Adeyemi.
The game went crazier again at the 67′ minute as Dusan Vlahovic scored the 2-2 equalizer for Juventus with an assist from the unstoppable Kenan Yildiz. Yan Bueno Couto gave Dortmund the lead again (74′). Ramy Bensebaini scored a penalty for Dortmund at the 86′ minute which could have been synonym of a great 4-2 away win for Dortmund.
But in Champions League a soccer game is never finished and Juventus and its experience says it all. The Italians scored thanks to Dusan Vlahovic at the 90’+4 minute (cross from Pierre Kalulu who recovered the ball). And finally at the 90’+6 minute, Lloyd Kelly delivered the Juventus Stadium with a head full of rage after a cross from Dusan Vlahovic (2 goals and 1 assits in this game).
With this epic 4-4 draw, both teams lost 2 points but won the joy of soccer fans.
