AC Milan moved top of Serie A after a tense 1–0 win over Lazio, settled by a Rafael Leão strike that sent San Siro into eruption.

Just two minutes in, derby hero Mike Maignan had to don his cape again, saving Milan from conceding early. That would be one of the very few chances in a dull first half. Milan struggled creatively: Luka Modrić had difficulties, Youssouf Fofana delivered another disastrous showing, and Christopher Nkunku was invisible in attack. Fofana’s decline continues to contrast sharply with Manu Koné’s rise at AS Roma.

Tomori produced the only real chance before halftime, and the English defender would later provide the assist for Leão, who danced through Lazio’s back line to score the winner.

Milan held firm thanks to Maignan’s heroics and an outstanding defensive display from Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlović, and the wing-backs.

The Rossoneri stay on top of Serie A and claim yet another major scalp.
