Overview

The Paraguay under-23 national football team represents Paraguay in age-restricted international competitions, including the Pan American Games and the South American Youth Championship qualifying rounds. The team is governed by the Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol, which was founded in 1906 and is affiliated with CONMEBOL. Paraguay has historically been a competitive presence in South American football at both senior and youth levels, though the senior side has not won a major international title.

The squad draws from domestic clubs and, increasingly, from players based abroad. Among the current notable players are R. Fernández, R. Frutos, F. Balbuena, A. Cantero, R. De Jesús, and G. Flores. These players represent a generation developed through club academies across South America and Europe.

Paraguay's youth programme aims to supply talent to the senior national side. The country has produced numerous professional players who have gone on to compete in top leagues across the continent and internationally.
