Romania

Overview

Romania is a national football team representing the country in international competition. The Romanian Football Federation was established in 1909, making it one of the older football governing bodies in Europe. Romania participated in the inaugural FIFA World Cup in 1930 and has qualified for the tournament on several occasions since, reaching the quarter-finals in 1994. The team competes in UEFA European Championship qualifying and has appeared at multiple editions of that tournament.

Romania has not won a major senior international title. The squad includes a number of active players such as goalkeeper Ionut Radu, fellow goalkeepers Căbuz and Târnovanu, and outfield players including Hindrich, Popescu, and Aioani, who contribute across domestic and European club football.

The team plays its home fixtures in Bucharest and wears yellow and blue as its traditional colours. Romania continues to participate in FIFA and UEFA competitions through standard qualifying cycles.
