Overview

The Netherlands women's national football team represents the country in international women's football and is governed by the Royal Dutch Football Association, which was founded in 1889. The team competes under UEFA and FIFA regulations and plays its home matches across various stadiums in the Netherlands. Over several decades the squad has developed into one of the stronger sides in European women's football, reaching the FIFA Women's World Cup final in 2019, where they were defeated by the United States.

The team has produced a number of prominent players in recent years. The current squad includes goalkeeper Dieke van Domselaar, defenders Renate van Eijk and Kerstin Casparij, and forwards and midfielders such as Lineth Beerensteyn and others alongside Vikki Buurman, Dominique de Jong, and L. Kop. No major senior international titles are recorded for the senior women's team to date.

The national federation's long establishment has supported the gradual growth of the women's game domestically, with increasing professional opportunities helping to raise the standard of players coming through into the national squad.
