A narrow victory for Liverpool

Liverpool struggled to beat Burnley at Turf Moor Stadium (0-1). But in the end the champions of England managed to take the 3 points with a penalty scored by Mohamed Salah at the end of the game (95′).

Liverpool are expected to do a great season once again. With Arne Slot in charge of the team, the Reds have won the title last year and are determined to do the same this year. With almost 590 millions (US dollar) spent this summer, there are high expectations around them.

For this game against a very good side of Burnley, the Reds faced a beautiful defense with a very solid center hinge (Laurent, Ekdal and Estève). Liverpool top offense players could not find the solution.

In the second half, Florian Wirtz broke through the defense but was not able to shot in target (54′), Dominik Szoboszlai made a beautiful long shot (59′) saved by Burnley’s goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

The tide has turned at the 84th minute when the frenchman Lesley Ugochukwu (Burnley) received a second yellow card and got ejected for a foul on Florian Wirtz.

With this numerical superiority, Liverpool has gained momentum, at the 94th minute, the Reds got a penalty after a handball from Hannibal Mejbri. Mohamed Salah scored the penalty to give the win to his team.

Thanks to this dramatic win, Liverpool remains unbeaten in Premier League this season and are now the only team in the championship to register 4 wins in 4 games. Burnley are now close to the relegation spot with the 17th spot.
