Brighton plunges Manchester City into doubt

During the 3rd matchday of Premier League, Brighton hosted Manchester City and won the game 2-1 with a brilliant goal from the German Brajan Gruda at the 89′ minute.

Still without the injured Savinho and Josko Gvardiol, Manchester City played a good first half in which they finished ahead on the scoreboard (1-0) thanks to a brilliant team action finished by Erling Haaland (3 goals in 3 games in PL this season).

However, Pep Guardiola’s players have collapsed in the second half, they started to be dominated by Brighton. Matheus Nunes (Manchester City) offered a penalty at the 65′ minute because of a handball in the penalty area. James Milner (Brighton) converted the penalty as he scored his first goal since 2019.

Brighton kept their momentum for the rest of the game and at the 89′ minute, Kaoru Mitoma sent Brajan Gruda deep into the box, the German eliminates James Trafford and Rayan Ait Nouri to score in the empty goal.

With this unexpected result, Manchester City now lost two games in a row and stays at an embarrassing 13th place, unlike Brighton who obtains their first win this season and climbs to 11th place.
