Barcelona win it in a rollercoaster. Atletico’s plan worked well with the first goal of the game but the quality of Barcelona keep them at the top of La Liga.

Barcelona were punished early when Alex Baena slipped into the gap between Cubarsí and Koundé, timing his run perfectly to beat Joan Garcia. The goal was confirmed after a VAR check. But Barça’s doubts lasted only six minutes. Played through by a brilliant Pedri pass, Raphinha rounded Oblak and equalized. They say the run triggers the pass, but this time it felt like Pedri’s pass triggered Raphinha’s run.

Eleven minutes later, Barça had a golden chance to go 2–1 up from the penalty spot. Olmo dribbled past Barrios, who clipped him and conceded a clear penalty. Yet Lewandowski completely wasted the opportunity, sending his shot into the clouds.

The sides went into halftime level, and the rhythm after the break remained the same: slow, patient, methodical Barça possession in search of an opening. That opening came in the 65th minute from another vertical pass by Pedri, this time finding Olmo. The attacking midfielder played a quick one-two with Lewandowski and finished off-balance to put Barça ahead.

Atlético would have two huge chances to equalize: first through Almada in the 79th minute, who completely mishit his effort, and then through Griezmann in stoppage time, whose awkward contact sent the ball wide.

In the dying seconds, Ferran Torres sealed the win with Barça’s third goal.

Barça take all three points and strengthen their position at the top of La Liga.
