Every time the Moroccan maestro touched the ball, Girona’s entire attacking structure seemed to come alive—and it was no surprise when he opened the scoring late in the first half after a well-timed assist from Tsygankov.
Real pushed harder after the break, and despite a scare in the 57th minute on a powerful strike from Vanat, the visitors eventually equalized through the inevitable Kylian Mbappé. Vinicius burst into the box and was brought down, earning a penalty that Mbappé calmly converted.
No further goals followed, and Real Madrid leave Catalonia frustrated—and no longer at the top of La Liga.
