Liverpool plunges deeper into mid table chaos
Liverpool’s slide into the Premier League’s soft underbelly continues, as Arne Slot’s men were soundly beaten 3–0 at Anfield by a disciplined and inspired Nottingham Forest.
Sean Dyche arrived on Merseyside with a clear plan: pack the middle in a compact 4-5-1, force Liverpool wide, and punish them in transition. The approach worked to perfection. Wasteful early on, Liverpool were stunned when Murillo pounced on a second ball from a corner to silence Anfield.
Forced to chase the game, Liverpool opened the door for Forest to counter at will — and Dyche’s men took full advantage. Early in the second half, right-back Nicolo Savona fired home a Williams cross, showcasing the outstanding performances from both Forest full-backs, who dominated the match on both ends of the pitch.
Slot threw everything forward — even sacrificing center-back Ibrahima Konaté for Hugo Ekitike — but nothing changed. Instead, Forest struck again, with veteran captain Morgan Gibbs-White sealing the rout.
A brutal 0–3 defeat raises serious questions about Arne Slot’s future as he struggles to find solutions for a team drifting aimlessly.
