After a poor start of the season, Atletico Madrid bounced back with a few wins, 5-2 against Real Madrid, 5-1 against Frankfurt, 3-2 against Rayo Vallecano. Unfortunately for Diego Simeone’s players, they struggled a lot at Celta Vigo in what could have been a loss.
After conceding a big chance, the Colchoneros scored after a pretty fast counterattack, the poor Starfelt scored in his own goal. Atletico could have pushed the same way for the rest of the game. However it did not happen like this, on the contrary Celta Vigo dominated the rest of the game.
Indeed Clément Lenglet received a second yellow card at the 40′ minute, leaving his teammates at 10 for the rest of the game. With this numerical superiority, Celta Vigo equalized at the 68′ minute with club’s legend Iago Aspas.
With this draw, Atletico are now 5th in La Liga. Celta Vigo are 16th.
