Manchester City 0-2 Bayer Leverkusen
Alejandro Grimaldo 23′ and Patrik Schick 54′.

After losing to Newcastle in the Premier League, Manchester City needed to bounce back in the Champions League against Leverkusen, who were on a three-game winning streak and had won five of their last six games. Unfortunately for Pep Guardiola’s team, things did not go as planned.
Nathan Ake had the 1st chance of the game for Manchester City at the 3rd minute, but Flekken saved it. Alejandro Grimaldo opened the scoreline at the 23′ minute after a beautiful finish to make it 1-0. Flekken helped his team to go to the break with the advantage after a great save against Reijnders at the 45′ minute.
Patrik Shick scored the 2-0 goal at the 54′ minute with a header after a cross from Ibrahim Maza, Manchester City dominated the rest of the 2nd half but Leverkusen’s defense remained focused.
Bayer Leverkusen can thank their goalkeeper Mark Flekken, who made a total of 9 saves and helped his team to win the match. Manchester City’s attack was never able to find a way past the Dutch goalkeeper.
Manchester City suffered their first defeat of the season in the Champions League and remain 6th with 10 points (waiting for tomorrow’s games). Leverkusen climb to 13th place with 8 points.
