Ruben Amorim may have won his biggest game as Manchester United manager. Despite all the critics that can be made against the Red Devils, this season they are competing and fighting for the best spots in Premier League. They confirmed today with this big win at Anfield against Liverpool.
The show started very early with Manchester United scoring the first goal at the 2nd minute of the game, Amad Diallo launches Mbeumo deep into the field. The Cameroonian shot and scored (2nd goal in PL this season). At the 20′ minute, Liverpool had the opportunity to equalize with Salah giving the ball to Cody Gakpo who unfortunately shot on the post.
Bruno Fernandes almost scored the 2-0 goal at the 24′ minute but shot out of target. Manchester United dominated the first half but were not able to score the 2nd goal. Alexaander Isak had a couple of opportunities for Liverpool but never cored (still no goal with Liverpool in Premier League). After the break, Liverpool created more chances and Cody Gakpo shot a second time on the post at the 50′ minute.
Mohamed Salah made a terrible game and missed a crucial one-on-one at the 65′ minute. Liverpool finally scored at the 78′ with Cody Gakpo who was very unlucky until there. Assist from Federico Chiesa.
We all thought this was going to be a draw in a very entertaining derby, but at the 84′ minute, the Red Devils spoiled Liverpool fans night with the game winner as Harry Maguire scored with the assist from Bruno Fernandes
With this win, Manchester United are now 9th in Premier League with only 3 points behind Manchester City who are 2nd. Liverpool are now 3rd with 15 points and lost 4 games in a row all competitions combined.
