Manchester United could have opened the scoreline at the very first minute of the game after a confusion in Palace’s defense, but Casemiro was unable to score. Both teams played a cautious style of soccer and entertainment was not really there during the first half.

But at the 15′ minute, Jean-Philippe Mateta lost a 1-on-1 situation, and the frenchman took his revenge at the 36′ minute when he scored a penalty that helped his team to take the lead. Penalty conceded by Leny Yoro (foul on Mateta).

After a clear domination from Crystal Palace in the last 15′ minutes of the first half, Manchester United played a better soccer in the second and found the solutions to go through Palace’s defense. At the 54′ minute, Joshua Zirkzee managed to shoot at an impossible angle and scored to equalize.

Less than 10 minutes later, Mason Mount, who has not been in the habit of scoring in recent months, scored to make it 2-1 for Manchester after an assist from Bruno Fernandes in a beautiful free-kick strategy. Manchester United kept the advantage for the rest of the game.

With this win, Manchester United goes up to the 7th place with 21 points. Crystal Palace are 9th with 20 points.
