After their big win in Serie A against Inter Milan, Napoli wanted to keep the momentum going. Antonio Conte’s players did it with this narrow win at Lecce after a goal in second half from Frank Zambo Anguissa, who scored in his last 2 games.
In a pretty close game in which Napoli were the clear favorites, Lecce had a couple of opportunities during the game but were never able to score a goal, instead, Napoli’s experience and realism paid off as Frank Zambo Anguissa scored at the 69′ minute thanks to the assist from David Neres.
Mathias Olivera had a great chance to open the scoreline at the 35′ minute but his shot was saved by Lecce’s goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone.
In the second half, Napoli conceded a penalty and Lecce could have scored but the penalty was saved by Milinkovic-Savic
With this win, Napoli are now leader of Serie A with 21 points, 3 points ahead of AC Milan, Lecce are 16th.
