The five teams with the best transfer windows

After yet another wild summer transfer window, it’s time to take stock. Which five teams strengthened the most during the 2025 summer market?

  • 1- LIVERPOOL

After a remarkable first season that ended with a 20th English league title, Liverpool wanted to build on that success to remain competitive and aim for a 21st crown (which would make the Merseyside club the most decorated in English football history) as well as a Champions League triumph. Beyond smart moves like Leoni, a highly rated Italian prospect, or Mamardashvili, Alisson’s likely successor, the Reds mainly focused on bolstering their starting XI. Kerkez steps in for veteran left-back Robertson, Frimpong replaces Alexander-Arnold, who joined Real Madrid, Wirtz adds creativity in the attacking midfield role, while Ekitike and Isak provide firepower up front. Arne Slot now has the weapons to keep Liverpool at the top of the Premier League.

  • 2 – NAPOLI

After a surprise run to their fourth Scudetto, Antonio Conte’s Napoli is back in business. As we know, the fiery Italian coach always demands strong guarantees, and club president Aurelio De Laurentiis backed him with a transfer window that makes Napoli the front-runner to retain their title. The headline signing is, of course, the brilliant Kevin De Bruyne, while Noa Lang could flourish under Conte’s demanding leadership. But don’t overlook the arrival of Bologna’s Sam Beukema, one of Serie A’s most reliable center-backs, who could form a rock-solid partnership with the impressive Buongiorno. The Diego Maradona Stadium is set to erupt once again.

  • 3- TOTTENHAM

With a new coach, the departure of icons like Son, and fresh ambitions, Spurs are entering the 2025–26 season with a brand-new look, eager to erase last year’s disastrous 17th-place league finish—softened only by their Europa League triumph. Aware that this European success was masking bigger problems, the club was very active in the market. Smart loan deals brought in Joao Palhinha to stabilize the midfield and Randal Kolo Muani to boost the attack. But the headline moves were permanent signings like Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons, who are set to make the starting XI far more competitive.

  • 4- ATLETICO MADRID

After heavy spending in the 2024 summer market (Álvarez, Sørloth, Gallagher, Le Normand), Atlético’s disappointing season made it clear that deeper changes were needed. Key players such as De Paul (Inter Miami), Azpilicueta (Sevilla), and Reinildo (Sunderland) departed, paving the way for fresh blood: Alex Baena, Raspadori, Almada, and David Hancko. This revamped Atlético hopes to finally break the Barcelona–Real Madrid duopoly.

  • 5- ARSENAL

The Gunners’ case is unique in this top five. Rather than a revolution, it’s been about adding depth to a squad considered too thin for three years—seen as the main reason for their failure to win major trophies. Arsenal secured marquee signings like the explosive Eze and the powerful Viktor Gyökeres, who immediately strengthen the starting XI. Complementary moves include Noni Madueke to increase competition on the wings, Mosquera and Hincapié to shore up a defense often plagued by injuries, and Kepa as a more reliable backup goalkeeper.

These five clubs stand out because they addressed clear needs, and around 80% of their investments are expected to have an immediate impact on the 2025–26 season.

The transfer window is over now it’s time for the pitch to decide.
