OM trash Ajax at Velodrome

OM 4-0 Ajax : Paixao 6’, 12’, Greenwood 26’, Aubameyang 52

A phenomenal Champions League night for Marseille, who dismantled Ajax 4-0 under Roberto De Zerbi.

The European fever at the Stade Vélodrome was simply overwhelming for the Dutch side. By the 26th minute, OM were already 3-0 up, finishing every move with conviction. The opener came from a brilliant three-man combination capped by a classy flick from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to new signing Igor Paixão. The Brazilian doubled his tally soon after with a stunning strike from outside the box, reminding fans of his Eredivisie exploits with Feyenoord. Mason Greenwood then netted the third.

Ajax’s naïve play proved costly, as each mistake turned into a Marseille opportunity.

In the 52nd minute, Paixão turned provider, setting up Aubameyang for the fourth goal. With such a commanding lead, OM eased off and cruised to the finish.

It was their third consecutive Champions League win, cementing their impressive form.
