Gianluca Vialli scored 85 goals in 223 games for Sampdoria and helped the club win its only Serie A title in 1991. He was the league’s top scorer that same season. He captained Juventus to the 1996 Champions League, his final match for the club. At Chelsea he became player-manager in 1998 and won the Cup Winners’ Cup and the League Cup that year. He died in London on 5 January 2023, aged 58.
