A joyful Barca trashes Valencia

A dazzling Barcelona side in every respect made a perfect home debut by thrashing Valencia 6-0. With a team weakened by injuries, the win was an impressive statement from the Catalans.

Usually, Valencia’s trips to Barcelona come with the same question: how many goals will Barca score? It’s well known that Valencia often serves as Barcelona’s favorite opponent when it comes to entertaining their fans.

The small Johan Cruyff Stadium, usually the home ground of the women’s team, witnessed Hansi Flick’s men deliver a performance that matched the team’s immense talent. A 6-0 success against a Valencia side quickly overwhelmed by the Catalans’ brilliance.

The three scorers of the night were Fermín López, who struck twice in the 29th and 56th minutes, Raphinha, who scored in the 53rd and 66th, and finally Robert Lewandowski, who wrapped up the Catalan festival in the 76th and 86th minutes.

With three wins and one draw, Barca sits second in La Liga, just two points behind Real Madrid, who have won all four of their games.
