Strasbourg 1-2 OM
Ouattara 49’ – Aubameyang 78’ Murillo 90’
To kick off the weekend, Marseille ensured themselves a comfortable spot near the top of the Ligue 1 table. In this high-stakes clash, OM came from behind to beat Strasbourg 2-1, with their substitutes proving decisive.
The atmosphere surrounding Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace was toxic ahead of Marseille’s visit. The supporters’ groups (UB90, Kop of Strasbourg) went on strike to protest both BlueCo’s sporting project and the club’s treatment of its fans. The result was a strange mix of silence and scattered chants in the east stand, which displayed a banner reading: “All united behind our club: president, captain, players, and staff.”

On the pitch, however, the odd atmosphere didn’t affect the match. Two strong sides went head-to-head in an intense contest full of pressing sequences, high recoveries, and constant battles. Chances came regularly, with both keepers, Mike Penders for Strasbourg and Gerónimo Rulli for Marseille, called into action. Emegha thought he had given Strasbourg the lead in the 17th minute, but the goal was ruled offside. Still, his movement and presence caused serious problems for OM’s backline.
After halftime, Strasbourg’s persistence was rewarded when Abdoul Ouattara opened the scoring. It felt like the hardest part was done for the hosts, but the introductions of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Benjamin Pavard turned the game on its head. Aubameyang equalized in the 78th minute, and Pavard later delivered the final pass for Amir Murillo’s match-winning strike.

OM showed great character once again, while Strasbourg’s attempt to shut things down after their substitutions ultimately backfired. For Marseille, it was another statement win following their triumph over PSG.
