Arsenal 2-0 Olympiakos : Martinelli 12’, Saka 90’
It was business-like from Arsenal, who secured a 2-0 win over Olympiakos. Serious and disciplined, the Gunners were rarely troubled and comfortably handled an opponent that never truly threatened.
Six points from two matches, no goals conceded, and an overall sense of solidity. Without making much noise, Arsenal continue to quietly showcase the recipe that works best for them: playing with order, consistency, and maturity. This was a schoolbook performance—efficient, controlled, and enough to get the job done. Against an Olympiakos side that was solid but lacked the daring to cause problems, Arsenal never needed to stretch themselves to seal the victory.
Martinelli opened the scoring in the 12th minute after Gyökeres’ shot struck the post. The Brazilian reacted quickest—as he so often does—to tuck away the rebound, showing once again his knack for thriving in opportunistic situations. The Gunners then exploited the spaces left by the Greek defense to create more chances on the counter, but Gyökeres was wasteful, failing to make a real impact even in a game that should have been favorable for him.

The second goal came from Saka, neatly set up by Arsenal’s playmaker-in-chief Ødegaard, who provided the perfect service for his winger to finish. Arsenal walked away with the three points, and even while playing in second gear, they exuded the kind of strength that makes them extremely difficult to compete with.
