Rayo Vallecano 0-0 Real Madrid
After their loss in UEFA Champions League against Liverpool, Real Madrid continued to disappoint against other Madrid side Rayo Vallecano. For this game in La Liga in which they are currently 1st, Xabi Alonso’s players could not do more than a draw without even scoring (for 2 games in a row).
Rayo Vallecano had a couple of opportunities in the first half but Courtois kept Madrid alive with important saves. Augusto Batalla (Vallecano’s goalkeeper) also made important saves in the first half to keep both teams at 0-0.
In the second half, the same scenario unfolded, with both teams having equal opportunities, but the defenses stood strong. Real Madrid’s attack was never able to find a solution.
With this pretty bad result, Real Madrid are still 1st in La Liga but Barcelona can come back to 3 points. Rayo Vallecano are 12th.
