  • LYON 2-3 PSG : Moreira 30’, Maitland-Niles 50’ – Zaire-Emery 26’, Kvaratskhelia 33’, Neves 90+5

In a dramatic showdown at the Parc OL, Paris Saint-Germain left it late once again to claim all three points. The reigning champions edged Lyon 3–2 to reclaim top spot from Marseille.

The Parisians seem to have a flair for late drama these days. After stealing a last-minute win over Nice a week ago, PSG repeated the trick — this time in Lyon — with another stoppage-time goal. Yet, this match was anything but straightforward. Warren Zaïre-Emery opened the scoring early on, but Lyon refused to back down. Playing without fear, the hosts struck back through Alfonso Moreira, who continues to impress in the absence of Malick Fofana.

Both teams were guilty of sloppy play and technical errors that fueled a chaotic, end-to-end battle. One of those mistakes — a poor pass from American midfielder Tanner Tessmann — handed PSG the chance to retake the lead, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made no mistake to make it 2–1.

But just when Paris looked in control, their defensive frailties resurfaced. Facing a high line manned by defenders who seemed allergic to positioning and a goalkeeper slow to react, PSG were caught out by a brilliant chip from Ainsley Maitland-Niles to level the score.

As the game drifted toward a 2–2 draw, Joao Neves rose highest on a corner in stoppage time to head home the winner past Dominik Greif.

Lyon can take pride in their performance — bold, aggressive, and full of energy — but once again, they walk away empty-handed despite a very encouraging display.
