Hungary 2-3 Ireland

Daniel Lukacs 3′ and Barnabas Varga 37′ for Hungary. Troy Parrott 15′ (penalty), 80′ and 90+6′ for Ireland.

It was the performance of the day, Troy Parrott, after scoring twice against Portugal, maybe sent his team to the 2026 World Cup with a hat-trick against Hungary and the game winner at the very last second of the game. The pictures with his teammates may be one of the best stories of these qualifications. Hungary are eliminated. Ireland will play the play-offs.

Portugal 9-1 Armenia

Renato Veiga 7′, Goncalo Ramos 28′, João Neves 81′, 41′, 30′, Bruno Fernandes 72′ (penalty), 51′, 45′ +3 (penalty) and Francisco Conceição 90′ +2 for Portugal. Eduard Spertsyan 18′ for Armenia.

Without their all-time leading scorer Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal absolutely destroyed Armenia to secure their spot in the 2026 World Cup. After their loss against Ireland, they needed to bounce back. Bruno Fernandes and Joao Neves scored 7 goals together. Portugal won 9-1 and made a statment for their last game of the qualifications.

Azerbaijan 1-3 France

Renat Dadasov 4′ for Azerbaijan. Jean-Philippe Mateta 17′, Maghnes Akliouche 30′ and Shahrudin Mahammadaliyev 45′ (OG) for France.

With 11 different players from their previous game, France got scared against Azerbaijan as they conceded the 1st goal at the 4′ minute. With their spot already secured, they played relaxed but showed how good all the players of the squad are. They scored 3 goals in the first half and kept the score in the second to secure their 3-1 win.

Albania 0-2 England

Harry Kane 74′ and 82′.

Harry Kane and England continue to impress as they won 2-0 their final game in the qualifications against Albania. They needed to wait the 74′ and 82′ minute to score as Albania was doing a great performance. 8 wins in 8 games for England and 0 goals conceded as they clearly are among the favorites for the World Cup. Albania will play the play-offs.
