- MONACO 1-0 PSG : Minamino 68’

AS Monaco finally delivered the signature performance Sébastien Pocognoli had been waiting for. Aggressive, confident, and fully committed, the Monegasques put together all the right ingredients to take down a timid Paris Saint-Germain.
From the opening minutes, Monaco went straight for PSG’s throat, applying waves of suffocating pressure that repeatedly forced Paris to recycle possession through goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier. During one of these pressing phases, Chevalier was violently clipped by Lamine Camara—an incident that somehow resulted in no red card for the Senegal international. The decision will undoubtedly fuel debates and controversies in the coming days.
Monaco’s intensity never dropped. The hosts attacked relentlessly, with Mohammed Salisu at the center of multiple dangerous moments. A constant threat on set pieces thanks to his size, the Ghanaian forced Chevalier into action several times and even scored, only for his goal to be ruled out for a passive offside by teammate Teze.
On PSG’s side, only Lee Kang-In and Lucas Hernandez looked remotely sharp. Vitinha delivered one of his most disappointing performances in a Paris shirt, and Monaco quickly understood that pressing the Portuguese midfielder severely limited PSG’s ability to build play.
The match remained goalless at halftime, but PSG came out with more intent. Still, Ndjantout in the 53rd minute and Mayulu later on failed to convert their chances. Monaco, on the other hand, struck clinically: Takumi Minamino finished off a brilliant pass from Aleksandr Golovin to give the home side the breakthrough. Both playmakers were outstanding, dictating the tempo and giving Monaco the fluidity they needed between the lines.
Monaco ended the match with ten men after a highly debatable red card shown to Thilo Kehrer, but even in numerical inferiority, Pocognoli’s side held firm. The final minutes were played in a roaring Stade Louis-II as Monaco secured a deserved and emotional victory.
With this result, Marseille could move back to the top of Ligue 1.
