Strasbourg lost again
Strasbourg stumbled badly at home against Brest. After an impressive first half capped by a well-taken goal from Amo-Ameyaw, the hosts faded physically as the match wore on. They dominated long stretches but never managed to score a second goal—thanks largely to a sensational performance from Grégoire Coudert, who seemed to stop everything. Strasbourg were eventually punished when their goalscorer conceded a penalty, calmly converted by Del Castillo. Missed chances piled up, and they came back to haunt them: Brest snatched all three points through a stunning strike from Magnetti, a long-range effort reminiscent of Steven Gerrard’s trademark rockets.

Lyon win against 10 Nantes’s men
Celebrating the club’s 75th anniversary with a special-edition kit, Lyon marked the occasion perfectly by defeating Nantes and climbing back into Ligue 1’s top six. Coming off a four-match winless run, Lyon were desperate to steady the ship. The first half was evenly matched, but a red card to Nantes defender Junior Mwanga tipped the contest in OL’s favor. Lyon get the job done and reposition themselves, with Paulo Fonseca set to miss one final match of his nine-month suspension following an altercation with a referee.
