Ukraine's national football team represents the country in international association football and is governed by the Football Federation of Ukraine, which was founded in 1991 following Ukrainian independence. The team competes under UEFA and has participated in several FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship tournaments. Its most notable achievement at senior level came at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, where Ukraine reached the quarter-finals, with Andriy Shevchenko and Oleg Blokhin serving as key figures in that campaign. The team has not won a major senior international title.
