Mali U23 have fielded a national team since 1960, playing in World Cup qualifying and their confederation’s tournaments.

Overview

The Mali U23 national football team represents Mali in age-restricted international competitions, including the Africa U23 Cup of Nations and the Olympic Games qualifying rounds. It is governed by the Fédération Malienne de Football, which was founded in 1960. The team draws players primarily from domestic clubs and from Malian players active in European leagues.

Mali has consistently produced technically capable young players, and the U23 side has participated in various continental qualification campaigns over the years. The current squad includes players such as Oumar Coulibaly, L. Diarra, I. Cissé, Mohamed Cisset, H. Diallo, and A. Diomandé. These players reflect the broader development of Malian football at junior and youth levels.

The senior national team has not won a major continental title, and the same applies to the U23 side. Nonetheless, Malian football continues to develop competitive players who go on to professional careers in Africa and Europe.
