Zoff was 40 when he captained Italy to the 1982 World Cup, the oldest player to win the tournament. Between 1972 and 1974 he went 1,142 minutes without conceding for Italy, a record for international football. He made 330 appearances for Juventus and won six Serie A titles there. He had already won the European Championship in 1968, on home soil, and finished with 112 caps.
