Fourth in Ligue 1 before kickoff, Marseille needed a win to reclaim third place. In an open and lively match, OM edged past an attractive but wasteful Monaco side.

- OM 1-0 Monaco : Greenwood 81’
Marseille came out flying, setting a strong tempo and creating chances early on. Greenwood broke through but missed his shot in the 4th minute, while Aubameyang squandered a big opportunity a few minutes later. Monaco then began to see more of the ball and registered two shots in the 43rd minute, both of which were saved.
The score remained 0–0 at halftime, and the second half resumed at the same intense pace. Marseille pushed forward, while Monaco threatened on the counter and exploited the spaces in OM’s back line. Marseille were saved twice by VAR, which ruled out Camara’s goal in the 51st minute and Balogun’s effort in the 81st. Just one minute later, in the 82nd, Marseille made the difference as Greenwood found the net.
Marseille finish the year in third place.
