Three days after their humiliating derby defeat to Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid bounced back in style with a commanding 5-0 victory over Kazakhstan’s Kairat Almaty.
Kylian Mbappé was the star of the night, hitting a hat-trick to pull Real out of their slump. His first came from the penalty spot, the second from a long Courtois clearance that sent him racing clear, and the third from a thunderous strike outside the box. The Frenchman now has five goals in the competition, keeping up his blistering pace.
Eduardo Camavinga and Brahim Díaz added goals of their own to seal an easy evening. Almaty showed spirit and even came close to scoring within the opening seconds, but their lack of composure in front of goal proved costly.
