Manchester City closing in to Arsenal

Manchester City fully capitalized on Arsenal’s slip-up to move back within striking distance of the Gunners. Against Sunderland, Pep Guardiola’s men showed no mercy, cruising to a 3–0 win. In the span of just four minutes starting from the 31st minute, the match flipped from 0–0 to 2–0 thanks to goals from center-backs Rúben Dias and Joško Gvardiol. After that, Rayan Cherki took over the show, delivering a gorgeous assist for Phil Foden.
Fresh off a spectacular midweek win at Fulham, City once again demonstrated its overwhelming attacking firepower—even on a day when Erling Haaland didn’t score. Manchester City now sit just two points behind Arsenal in the table.
Chelsea stumble

Chelsea could do no better than a scoreless draw at Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium. With Cole Palmer returning to the starting XI, hopes were high for a strong performance, but the Blues lacked inspiration from start to finish. The best early chances actually went to the Cherries, with Semenyo having a goal ruled out and Bournemouth seeing a penalty initially awarded before being overturned for offside.
Chelsea rarely troubled Petrovic and once again failed to close the gap on the top four.
Elsewhere
Newcastle and Tottenham both claimed important wins to stay attached to what has become an extremely tight Premier League pack. For Spurs, Xavi Simons scored his first Premier League goal, while Newcastle labored to break down Burnley before finally making the breakthrough.
