Leeds continue to show an extraordinary level of character. After their gritty win over Chelsea, they once again refused to die, clawing their way to a draw that felt like a victory. Trailing 0–2 and later 2–3, Leeds managed to come back each time.
- Leeds 3-3 Liverpool : Calvert-Lewin 73’, Stach 75’, Tanaka 90+4 – Ekitike 48’ 50’, Szoboszlai 80’

Liverpool thought they had done the hard part in the 88th minute when Dominik Szoboszlai—one of the Reds’ standout performers this season—appeared to rescue his team. After blowing an early 2–0 lead and being pegged back to 2–2, Liverpool finally regained the advantage late. In a match of two very different halves, things opened up in the 48th minute when Hugo Ekitike scored, then immediately doubled his tally to put Liverpool in comfort. But in this post-title season, comfort seems to make Liverpool uneasy.
Ibrahima Konaté gifted Leeds a lifeline with a clumsy foul on Gnonto in the box. After a VAR review, the penalty was confirmed and calmly converted by Calvert-Lewin, and moments later Stach equalized with a surging run down the left.
That brings us back to Szoboszlai’s late strike, which looked like it would spare Liverpool from another embarrassing result. After coming back from two goals down, Leeds seemed destined to fall on the Hungarian’s goal. But fueled by Elland Road’s energy and still riding the momentum from the Chelsea win, Leeds equalized yet again—this time through Tanaka on a corner.
Liverpool have now won just 2 of their last 10 league matches.
