Overview

The Sudan national football team represents Sudan in international association football and is governed by the Sudan Football Association, which was founded in 1936. The team competes under the Confederation of African Football and has participated in the Africa Cup of Nations on several occasions, though it has not won a major senior international title. Sudan's performances on the continental stage have been inconsistent over the decades, reflecting the broader challenges faced by football development in the country.

The squad currently includes several players who compete at club level across Africa and the Middle East. Notable members of the present generation include Mohamed Abooja, Ali Abu Eshrein, M. Elneel, Altayeb Abaker, Abuaagla Abdalla, and Mohamed Hakeem. These players form the core of a squad that continues to compete in African qualifying competitions.

Sudan plays its home fixtures in Khartoum. The team wears red as its primary colour and is commonly known as the Nile Crocodiles.
