Overview

The Comoros national football team represents the Union of the Comoros in international association football and is governed by the Fédération Comorienne de Football, which was founded in 1979. The team competes under the confederation of the Confederation of African Football. For much of its history the side operated at the margins of African football, but it qualified for its first Africa Cup of Nations in 2021, reaching the round of sixteen and attracting considerable international attention. The team has not won a major senior international title.

The squad draws players from the Comorian diaspora, particularly from France, alongside those based domestically. Notable players in the current setup include A. Anzimati-Aboudou, N. Said Mchindra, A. Abdallah, M. Ahamada, Y. Kari and A. Maoulida. Several squad members hold dual nationality and represent the archipelago nation having developed their football careers in European club football. The team continues to develop its competitive standing within the African football landscape.
