Overview

The Lithuania national football team represents the country in international association football and is governed by the Lithuanian Football Federation, which was founded in 1922. The team competes under UEFA and FIFA and has participated in qualification campaigns for the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Championship, though it has not advanced to the final stages of either tournament. Lithuania is generally regarded as a developing football nation within Europe.
