Overview

The Belarus national football team represents the country in international association football and is governed by the Football Federation of Belarus, which was founded in 1989 following Belarusian independence from the Soviet Union. The team competes in UEFA qualifying competitions but has not won a major international title. Belarus has historically occupied a mid-to-lower tier in European football rankings, though the team has produced competitive performances in World Cup and European Championship qualifying campaigns over the years.

The squad draws players from domestic clubs as well as from leagues across Europe. Among the current notable players are M. Kozakevich, F. Lapoukhov, P. Pavlyuchenko, R. Begunov, K. Gomanov, and V. Kalinin. The team plays its home matches at Dinamo Stadium in Minsk, which serves as the principal venue for international fixtures.

Belarus has never qualified for a major senior international tournament, including the FIFA World Cup or the UEFA European Championship.
