Dennis Bergkamp scored 103 goals for Ajax and was the Eredivisie’s leading scorer three seasons running. Two difficult years at Inter Milan followed, brightened by the 1994 UEFA Cup. He signed for Arsenal in 1995 and stayed eleven years, winning three league titles and four FA Cups. His fear of flying kept him off European away trips for much of that time. His volleyed winner against Argentina settled a 1998 World Cup quarterfinal.
