Pavel Nedvěd won the Serie A title with Lazio in 2000 and the Cup Winners’ Cup a year earlier. Juventus signed him to replace Zinédine Zidane in 2001 and he won two more Italian titles. A yellow card in the 2003 semifinal ruled him out of the Champions League final, which Juventus lost on penalties. He took the Ballon d’Or that December. The Czech midfielder stayed at the club through its 2006 relegation to Serie B.
