Enzo Francescoli scored 68 goals in his first spell at River Plate and was the Argentine league’s leading scorer in 1985–86. He won the French title with Marseille in 1990, then spent three seasons at Cagliari. Back at River in 1996, he lifted the Copa Libertadores. He won the Copa América with Uruguay in 1983, 1987 and 1995, and was voted South American Footballer of the Year twice. Zinédine Zidane named his eldest son Enzo after him.
