Overview

Canada's national football team is governed by Canada Soccer, which was founded in 1912, making it one of the older football associations in North America. The team competes within the Concacaf confederation and has historically operated in the shadow of stronger regional sides. Canada qualified for the FIFA World Cup in 1986, their only appearance at the tournament, where they were eliminated in the group stage without scoring a goal.

The team experienced a significant rise in performance during the early 2020s, qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after topping the Concacaf final round standings. This marked a substantial improvement in the program's standing. No major international titles have been recorded at senior level.

Current notable players include goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau, defenders Derek Cornelius and Richie Laryea, and attackers such as Liam De Fougerolles and Ollie Goodman, alongside Dayne St. Clair, who provides competition in goal.
