Overview

Chile's national football team, known as La Roja, is governed by the Federación de Fútbol de Chile, which was founded in 1895. The team competes in CONMEBOL, the South American football confederation, and plays its home matches primarily at Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Pradanos in Santiago. Chile's most significant international honours are its back-to-back Copa América titles, won in 2015 and 2016, the latter secured on penalties against Argentina. These successes came during a period when the squad included several players of considerable international experience.

The current squad is organised across four positions. Goalkeepers include B. Cortés, T. Gillier, S. Mella, and L. Vigouroux. Among the outfield players, defenders such as G. Maripán and F.
