FYR Macedonia

Overview

The FYR Macedonia national football team represents the country in international association football and is governed by the Football Federation of Macedonia, which was founded in 1948. The team competes under UEFA and FIFA jurisdiction. Following the dissolution of Yugoslavia, Macedonia entered international football as an independent nation in the early 1990s. The side has not won a major international title at senior level.

The squad has produced several players who compete professionally across European leagues. Among the more prominent figures are goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski, defender Daniel Shishkovski, and midfielder Ezgjan Alioski, who has represented the team regularly. Other recognised players include D. Iliev, D. Taleski, and S. Alomerovic.

The team has historically competed in UEFA European Championship and FIFA World Cup qualifying campaigns without advancing to a major tournament at senior level. The country later changed its constitutional name to North Macedonia following an international agreement.
