Overview

The Türkiye national football team represents Turkey in international men's football and is governed by the Turkish Football Federation, which was founded in 1923. The team competes within UEFA and plays its home fixtures primarily at Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul. Türkiye has not won a major senior international title, though the team reached the semi-finals of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, finishing third in that tournament, which remains its highest achievement at a senior global competition.

The squad has historically drawn players from domestic clubs such as Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, and Beşiktaş, as well as from clubs across European leagues. Current squad members include goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, defenders Samet Akaydin, Abdülkerim Bardakci, and Zeki Çelik, along with goalkeepers Uğurcan Çakir and Mert Günok. Türkiye reached the quarter-finals of UEFA Euro 2024, demonstrating continued competitiveness within European football.
