Overview

The Jamaica national football team represents the country in international association football and is governed by the Jamaica Football Federation, which was founded in 1910. The team is commonly known as the Reggae Boyz, a nickname reflecting the country's strong musical identity. Jamaica became the first Caribbean nation to qualify for a FIFA World Cup, reaching the 1998 tournament in France, where they won one group stage match against Japan.

The team competes within CONCACAF and has participated in multiple editions of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, reaching the final on one occasion. Jamaica has not won a major senior international title. The squad has historically drawn players from domestic football as well as from the English football pyramid, reflecting the country's close sporting ties with Britain.

Current players of note include A. Blake, C. Boyce-Clarke, T. Chambers, J. Grant, A. Knight, and J. Waite, who contribute to ongoing efforts to develop the programme at the senior level.
