Overview

The Malta national football team represents Malta in international association football and is governed by the Malta Football Association, which was founded in 1900, making it one of the older football federations in Europe. The team competes in UEFA competitions, including the UEFA European Championship qualifying rounds, though it has not won a major senior international title. Malta is generally regarded as a smaller footballing nation and typically competes against similarly ranked sides in the lower tiers of UEFA's Nations League.
