Scholes retired in 2011, then returned to Manchester United in January 2012 for a final season that ended with the 2012–13 title. He won eleven Premier League titles and the Champions League in 1999 and 2008. A booking in the semi-final ruled him out of the 1999 final in Barcelona. He scored 14 goals in 66 games for England, and stepped away from the national team after Euro 2004 at the age of 29.
