Alan Shearer scored a hat-trick against Arsenal on his first Southampton start, aged 17. He moved to Blackburn Rovers in 1992 and scored 112 goals in 138 games, winning the Premier League in 1995. He then returned home to Newcastle United and played 303 times for the club. He was the league’s top scorer three seasons in a row and finished with 260 Premier League goals, still the competition record. England capped him 63 times.
