Cafu played in three consecutive World Cup finals and won two of them, in 1994 and 2002. He lifted the trophy in Yokohama as Brazil’s captain. His 142 caps remain a national record. At Roma he made 163 appearances and won the 2001 Serie A title, the club’s first in eighteen years. He moved to AC Milan in 2003 and won the Champions League there in 2007. He had already won two Copa Libertadores titles with São Paulo.
