Overview
Newcastle United Football Club was founded in 1892 and is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. The club competes in the Premier League, the top tier of English football, and plays its home matches at St. James' Park, one of the largest stadiums in England. The club has historically drawn strong support from the local community and the wider north-east of England.
Newcastle won the First Division title on several occasions during the early and mid twentieth century and has a significant FA Cup tradition. The club went through a prolonged period without a major domestic trophy in the modern era, though it has remained a consistent presence in the top flight for much of that time.
Current squad members include goalkeepers N. Pope and A. Ramsdale, defender S. Botman, and further squad players such as Aidan Harris, E. Jaouen, and Max Thompson. The club continues to develop under ongoing investment and management in the 2020s.
